Let’s Have a Smörgåsbord!

Growing up we typically had simple meals; fried chicken, spaghetti from a jar, Kraft Mac n’Cheese, etc.  My parents didn’t usually cook from cookbooks, although they have the typical cookbooks you would expect to find in a home, the Big Red Betty Crocker Cookbook and the Better Homes and Garden Cookbook.  Books that till this day I recommend everyone have for basic home cooked meals (I have my own copies today).  But one cookbook they have takes the cake as something I cannot recollect they ever cooked a meal out of.

Asking my mom about the cookbook she told me she got it for like 75 cents or something years ago.  I remember seeing it  several times as a boy, and of course I remember the naked family.  I think the only recipe my parents use from it is the Baked Ham Glaze.  Not many of the recipes really call out for me to try but I’m willing to take one for the readers.  Please post a comment with your suggestion on what I should try to cook and I’ll post a feature about it in July.
