Thanksgiving 2010 – Part 2

So I already showed you all the great food we made for Thanksgiving as well as for our After Thanksgiving Thanksgiving party we had with some foodie friends.  Now to talk about the wonderful food that they brought with them.  But first I wanted to thank our friends that came over last Saturday for such a memorable feast.  Niyaz from Fat Dude on a Diet and his wifey Nadia, Cyn Furey from Furey and the Feast and her boyfriend, and Griffin from Griffin Eats and his wife V and beautiful daughter.

I’d love to show you all wonderful pictures of the food that everyone brought but you will just have to believe me when I say everything that was made was amazing.  Niyaz brought a wonderful Polenta made with Gruyère cheese, pearl onions (he told me the exact name but I can’t remember) and bacon.  Even Mrs. DanGarion who typically stays away from corn-based dished liked it.  Cyn brought three dishes, her wonderful Basil and Pear salad, delicious Cranberry Relish that her boyfriend made, and some Toffee Squares Circles that she was testing out for a friends cook book.  Griffin bought these great appetizers that he called balls, there were both spinach and spicy sausage, his wife made the most delectable candied yams that were so sinfully sweet, and a great Apple Tart that was a perfect complement to the Pumpkin Pie that Mrs. DanGarion made.  Along with all their food I cooked a turkey using Alton Brown’s brine again this year, along with a couple other tips I learned.  In addition we made a two types of stuffing, made gravy with the turkey stock I made from last years turkey, potatoes, and Trader Joe’s corn bread.  It’s an all around excellent meal with great company!

We are looking forward to making this a yearly tradition with our foodie friends!
