I’m sure most of you have noticed that although I don’t flat outright say it, I like to commend restaurants that show initiative to be green. This approach to business intrigues me, even though I’m not fully sold on all the “green” initiatives that are out there (carbon credits are a joke). Regardless, I do see the benefit in being green, and it’s not about politics, it’s about being conserving the resources or planet has. *steps off soapbox*.
Quiznos has launched a new “Eat Toasty, Be Green” campaign in which they will start to use biodegradable packaging. I’ll just include a clip from the article I read over at Slashfood.
Quiznos is introducing 100 percent compostable wax-coated paper cups, pulp salad bowls made from renewable sugarcane and napkins made from 100 percent recycled material and fibers. Plastic lids will be 30 percent post-consumer recycled PET bottles and catering lunch boxes will be made from 100 percent recycled paperboard.
