It’s that time again for the 2010 Fullerton College Horticulture Department Tomato Sale (click here for details)! For just over $2 a plant you can get already growing tomato plants to add to your vegetable garden. Last year we purchased 8 tomato plants along with 2 pepper plants. I haven’t decided exactly what I’m going to buy this year, since our vegetable garden has expanded by two 3 by 5 raised beds, along with a little bit of our original space.
The FCHD Tomato Sale happens this weekend, Friday, March 5th through Sunday, March 7th, from 10am – 4 pm each day. There will tomatoes and possible other vegetables as well, last year I purchased a jalapeño plant, that did real well till it got trampled on. If you can’t visit the FCHD sale, Cal State Fullerton’s Arboretum has their Monster Tomato Sale in two weeks, starting Thursday, March 18th for members, and Friday, March 19th, through Sunday, March 21st for the public.
Proceeds for all plant sales go to their respective departments for continued development.
