Big B’s BBQ – Fullerton

I went to Big B’s BBQ in Fullerton on a suggestion from Nancy at Fast Food Maven last week when I was looking for lunch via Twitter.  Big B’s BBQ is actually two places in one, Big B’s is also the kitchen for Brian’s Beer and Billiards which is the unit right next door and has been in Fullerton 28 years.img_0429.jpg

Big B’s BBQ specializes in charbroiled BBQ varieties.  For lunch I went ahead and ordered the Rib Lunch ($9.25) which includes 1/3 of a slab of baby back ribs (6), a fresh baked roll, and choice of side order (I got the Beckett’s Beans).  The ribs we precooked earlier in the day to speed up the ordering process and are then finished over the charbroil grill when ordered.  The ribs were pretty good with a bit of char on them and a great BBQ sauce lightly added to them that had just a bit of bite at the end of it.  The beans were pretty standard fair nothing special, but better then some of the beans I haven’t lately at other BBQ joints.img_0431.jpg Overall it was a pretty good meal that I would order again.  The menu includes the normal range of BBQ type items, ribs, chicken, pork and beef sandwiches.  Lunches range from $8-11, sandwiches $5-8, and dinners top out at $18.  they also have family dinner specials that would probably feed at least a family of 4 starting at $34 for 2 whole chickens to $43 for 2 whole slabs of baby back ribs, including 3 pints of side orders.

Not much to say about the service since it’s just counter service other then that my order was up in about 5 minutes so I didn’t have to waste much time waiting for my meal.

visit on Friday 05.01.09 for lunch @1145
