Here are some pictures from a visit to DeSimone Delicatessen in Orange that I took a couple weeks ago. Since they had a sign that said they had “The Best Cuban Sandwich is Orange County”, I had to try it. The Cuban ($5.70) isn’t a typical sandwich I would order, but I had to admit it was pretty good. What really made the sandwich was the bread that had the perfect crunchy crust while a forgiving inside bread that wasn’t at all doughy. The woman working behind the counter was really nice (might have been the owner) and I was impressed with their small all you can eat salad bar that had great cole slaw along with macaroni, potato, and bean salad. I’m looking forward to trying many more sandwiches at DeSimone.
Check out my buddy Jeff’s review of DeSimone’s over at Food Frenzy at the OC Register.
