For those that are new to Eat in OC, I love Mexican food, so eating food from restaurant like Taco Adobe in Orange is something I really look forward to, especially when the food is great. I’ve reviewed Taco Adobe in the past having the carnitas plate, so there isn’t really much new to report since today I ordered the carnitas burrito. But it is worthwhile to note that they still are serving out great food and are as busy as ever. I arrived there shortly after 11 AM and the place was empty, quickly the small building filled as many local employees and students sat to eat their lunch. In just 15 minutes they went to 15 empty tables to a full house. It’s nice to have a hidden gem in your neighborhood but considering what I saw today I don’t think Taco Adobe is so hidden anymore.
My carnitas burrito was made to perfection today with all the ingredients melding together to provide a terrific combination of pork, beans, and rice. Speaking of rice, it typically just a boring dish but the rice in the burrito really stood out because of the freshness I could taste it’s in preparation, instead of the normal starchy gut bomb you usually get the rice had an amazing fluffy consistency that I could taste as I enjoyed my meal. My burrito was the best ratio of ingredients that one could want. I’m sure some manly man will post on here that it doesn’t have enough meat, since it isn’t just full of carnitas, but to me that is what makes this carnitas burrito one of the best I’ve had since opening up Eat in OC, it stands on more than just being meat. Which is something many of us could afford to appreciate.
Service was quick and efficient, which is exactly what I was looking for in a quick weekday meal.
