Loukanico, Greek Sausage, the star of the night!

In just a couple of weeks St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church in Irvine will be holding their 32nd Annual Greek Festival ‘A Taste of Greece’.  When you first hear it, you might think it’s the food festival with a funny name, but I’m here to tell you they are serious about their food.  I was fortunate enough to be invited to a media tasting event a couple of weeks ago hosted by the Executive Chef & Culinary Director for “A Taste of Greece,” George Kookootsedes.  Being that I have very little experience with Greek food I enjoyed the journey through Greece along with the premium Greek wines he served us.  Shown below is just a sample of the amazing Greek food that you will be able to feast on.

Festival hours are:
5 PM to 10 PM on Friday, June 25th
Noon to 10 PM on Saturday, June 26th
Noon to 9 PM on Sunday, June 27th

Admission if just $3 per person with free admission on Saturday from Noon to 5 PM for seniors 65 and older.  Children under 10 are free throughout the fair.  Free parking will also be available, with complimentary shuttle buses transporting guests from public parking sites in Irvine.

It’s guaranteed to be a fun-filled festival for the whole family with

  • Delicious Greek Food, Pastries, and Wine Taverna
  • Cooking Demonstrations
  • Greek Folk Dancing Lessons
  • Games, Carnival Rides, and Church Tours
