Mariscos Puerto Esperanza - Pibil Pork<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

After reading a review from Jeff Overly of the Orange County Register’s Food Frenzy Blog<\/a> about Mariscos Puerto Esperanza in Orange I decided to try them out last week.\u00a0 Overall the food was alright.\u00a0 I ordered the Pibil Pork which came with green rice and beans.\u00a0 The pork was topped with pickled red onions and diced tomatoes, and served along with tortillas, so I ate it as I would eat carnitas.\u00a0 The chips were interesting, they weren’t freshly made and they had a different consistency that I’m used to seeing in restaurants, but the thin salsa was decent, although I wished it had more chunks to it.\u00a0 The rice was ok, while the beans lacked much flavor at all.\u00a0 The pork on the other hand was quite good, the pickled onions mixed well as I filled my torn off tortilla bits.<\/p>\n

The entr\u00e9es were presented very well and the dining was actually more elegant than the price would make you think.\u00a0 But everything was a bit off, from the fact that they serve you cans of soda, to the chips, to the sides included with the entr\u00e9e, but the pork almost made up for all that.<\/p>\n
