Yesterday I shared the list of restaurants I reviewed in 2009<\/a>. \u00a0Today I will wrap up the year with my hits and misses of the year, along with some other bits of information.<\/p>\n

Haven Gastropub<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Hits of 2009<\/span><\/strong>
\nJust for traffic alone I have to include Perfect Circle Cupcakery<\/strong><\/a>. Although I didn’t find much special with their cupcakes it generated the most traffic and comments of the year.
\nOur visit to Slater’s 50\/50<\/strong><\/a> for the first of two Food Frenzy Foodie Feasts<\/a> with the guys from Food Frenzy<\/a> over at the Orange County Register.
\n Costa Mesa Omelette Parlor<\/strong><\/a> was probably my biggest surprise of the year, good breakfast that was cheap and fast!
\n Which Wich<\/strong><\/a> impressed me with the way they make making sandwiches your way, although the location and the choices might turn some away.
\n Haven Gastropub<\/strong><\/a> for the best new restaurant of 2009 that I visited. \u00a0The food is great, the owners are really nice, they have an awesome beer selection, it’s just overall great. \u00a0I do hope to do a real review eventually.
\n Five Guys<\/strong><\/a> strictly for the mention by Nancy of the Fast Food Maven blog<\/a> at the Orange County Register of them coming to Orange<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Kimmie's Coffee Cup - Outside Seating<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Kogi Korean BBQ<\/a><\/strong> was the biggest thing in 2009 and I finally got to check them out in late October. \u00a0Unfortunately I just didn’t feel they stood up to all the hoopla I heard all year. \u00a0But they were better than the clone Baja Fresh Gogi Tacos<\/a><\/strong> I tried in Irvine months before getting a chance at the real thing.
\nI tried Jersey Mike’s<\/a><\/strong> a couple times throughout the year and can’t say they made an impression, although I didn’t do a review of it, I’m warning anyone not to have their pastrami reuben, \u00a0it’s not good…
\n Kimmie’s Coffee Cup<\/a><\/strong> for the bad service we got, and for fishy reviews on Urbanspoon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Chris' & Pitt's - Menu<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

As for my favorite meal of the year, it’s a place I didn’t do a review of, but it’s the long time celebration restaurant my family and I would go to growing up, Chris’ & Pitt’s. \u00a0We had a great meal there early in the year with family and friends, and not only was the food as good as I always remember it, it’s fairly inexpensive, and the service was very attentive to our group of 12.<\/p>\n
