On a recent weekday I had off I visited Spiro’s Restaurant in Orange, hoping to find another breakfast place for us to visit on the weekends (we usually go to The Filling Station<\/a> or Arthur’s Coffee Shop<\/a>).\u00a0 Unfortunately although the service at Spiro’s was nice and attentive, their food well below average.<\/p>\n

Spiro's Restaurant - Corned Beef Hash and Eggs<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I ordered the Corned Beef Hash and eggs, along with biscuits and gravy.\u00a0 As you can see from the pictures the corned beef and hash appears to be that of the canned variety.\u00a0 I could almost accept canned hash, I used to love it when my mom would make it from a can when I was a kid, but they missed the key element of cooking the hash till it has a nice crust to it.\u00a0 The biscuits and gravy were average at best, the gravy was bland but the biscuit was edible.\u00a0 The eggs were the best item of the dish, although they were more over easy than over medium.<\/p>\n

I’m not planning to visit Spiro’s Restaurant in the future, honestly I think I’d be better off visit Denny’s or Norm’s, but we’ll stick with our normal weekend breakfast locations.<\/p>\n
