class="wp-caption-text">Nick's Pizza Medium Pizza

Nick’s has been business for over 40 years and from my understanding little has changed other than their location. Pizza is one of my favorite things to eat although it’s one of the most difficult foods for my wife and I to agree on. We usually just order Round Table Pizza for delivery since it’s the only pizza that we can agree on together and they are pretty consistent. But being the food adventurer that I am, I like to push the envelope and attempt to discover other pizza places that we can both agree on. Will Nick’s be one we can both love?

We ordered our usual pizza, pepperoni, along with roasted garlic. If a pizza place can’t make a good pepperoni pizza they have no reason to be making pizzas. After about 15 minutes our pizza arrived piping hot from the oven. The pizza appeared to be 14 inches wide, with a GBD (golden brown and delicious) looking crust. With the first look you couldn’t really see many of the toppings, because they cover the toppings with the cheese.

Nick's Pizza Lotsa Cheese

Talking about the cheese, there was a lot of cheese on the pizza. Usually I love cheese, but I felt it overshadowed the other toppings. My first slice of pizza came with a ball of cheese on the side. The sauce wasn’t the usual type of sauce I enjoy, it was sort of sweet and a not as thick as I tend to like, but it still cured my pizza cravings. Mrs. DanGarion likes pizza with a crispy crunch to the crust, and her first slice had just the crunch she was looking for. But as the pizza rested and the sauce and cheese grease settled the middle of the pizza because soggy, which turned her off.

Service was good, the waiter and bus boy were both very attentive to our needs and with refilling our drinks.

Overall it was an average pizza. If we ordered a pizza from Nick’s in the future we would probably ask for less cheese, and I would make sure the Mrs. took both her slices at the start to try to keep them from getting soggy. We definitely would come back again and try their Italian entrees.

Visit on
