It was delicious! The place was packed like most places are on Fridays during the lunch hour, but fortunately when I eat lunch during the week I normally roll alone, so I didn’t have to wait for table to open up for my party. I walked in and they sat me right down. As I sat down a bowl of chips and salsa were put down in front of me and I started looking over the menu. I really wanted to try the Arroz Con Pollo but didn’t want to pay full price (less then 8 bucks, but I only have a 10 with me). So I ended up getting the Friday special which was Chile Con Carne (not beef but pork) and an iced tea.

As I starting scarfing down the tasty chips and salsa (not too hot, not too mild) I people watched, and hoped my stomach would forgive me for eating my lunch (I’m coming down with a cold). But I just had to get a my mexican fix! I gave up fried stuff for lent, and now I can have chips and salsa again at a mexican restaurant, this was my first time back on the saddle, and it was well worth it. Not that long after I ordered my plate of Mexican goodness was delivered. the plate consisted of about 5-6 nice sized chunks of meat drowning in sauce, along with beans an rice. I soaked in the warmth from the food I thanked the waiter and he handed me flour tortillas. the food was full of flavor and every bite hit the spot.

All that and it only cost me $8 bucks (not including tip)!

I was actually pretty surprised at how busy the place was considering it’s location (it isn’t the easiest place to locate). But I’m definitely coming back, and next time I’m bring my wife with me for dinner!

[xrr rating=5/5]

El Farolito
201 S Bradford Ave
Placentia, CA 92870
(714) 993-7880

I’m still recovering from my terrific meal I had for lunch today at El Farolito.
