free media tasting event for the fall inspired items on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.roysrestaurant.com\/cuisine\/prix_fixe_menu.asp\">Roy&#8217;s Prix Fixe menu<\/a>.\u00a0 Roy&#8217;s was a new experience for both of us, since we had never visited a Roy&#8217;s till last night.\u00a0 I can fully say now that we&#8217;ve been missing out.\u00a0 There were some definite winners included during the event, along with a couple of items that just didn&#8217;t fit our normal tastes.\u00a0 Roy&#8217;s has two separate specials on right now, first is there every day fall inspired Prix Fixe menu which you can only order any day for $35.95 per person.\u00a0 Or if you are really feeling adventurous you can visit Roy&#8217;s on Mondays during November for My Prix Fixe Mondays, where any appetizer, entr\u00e9e Goat Cheese Crusted Salmon, Braised Beef Short Ribs, and both desserts.\u00a0 We were a bit unimpressed with the Squash Salad (something we would probably never order anyway), and the Grilled Tiger Shrimp.\u00a0 We were split on the Crusted Chicken, I liked it while the Dijon was overpowering for the Mrs.\u00a0 The soup was ok, but I felt it was missing something, like a dollop of cr\u00e8me fra\u00eeche or something to lighten up the spiciness of it.<\/p>\n<p>We were both impressed with the knowledgeable waiter we had serving us who really knew the menu and the items involved in each dish, Griffin from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.griffineatsoc.com\/\">Griffin Eats OC<\/a> was asking him a bunch of questions and he really shined with his answers and knowledge.\u00a0 I also really liked Chef Edgar Agbayani, who came out and talked with us, he was very interested to hear our thoughts about the food and really just a pleasure to speak with, you can tell he has a real passion and love for his craft!<\/p>\n\n<p>There are two Roy&#8217;s locations in Orange County (Newport Beach and Anaheim) and 10 in California.\u00a0 Our dinner was at the Newport Beach location.\u00a0 I would like to thank the staff and management of Roy&#8217;s in Newport beach for the fabulous dinner along with their PR and Marketing team for inviting us to enjoy this great meal.\u00a0 Once again the food for this Special Event was provided free of charge but no promise of a review or of a good, bad, or fair review was asked for or suggested by Roy&#8217;s or their marketing staff.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.roysrestaurant.com\/locations\/CA\/newport_beach.asp\">Roy&#8217;s Restaurant &#8211;
