Felix has been in the Orange Plaza for years, opening in the late 70’s and has been receiving praise for Cuban and Spanish food by the likes of Elmer Dills and many other food critics in the area. On my first visit for breakfast at Felix I ordered the Eggs Hussarde (Two poached eggs over toasted English muffin, with smoked ham, tomato slices, marchan de vin, and Hollandaise sauce), served along with juice, potatoes, and your choice of a tostada latina or fruit fritter, it is a steal at $6.95. It’s a lot of food for the price and will leave you more than stuffed.

For my most recent visit to Felix I went with the Huevos a la Felix (A combination of one egg Benedict and one egg Creole, both with Canadian bacon) again served with juice, potatoes, and choice of side for only $6.95.

Felix Continental Huevos a la Felix

Each of the eggs stands out on its own with the unique flavors of just a bit of sweetness and spiciness. It was a let down to eat this sad fritter at the end of my meal, because it could have been so much better. On my previous trip the tostada latino was pretty good and I would recommend it instead of the fruit fritter.

Overall it was a decent meal that definitely has a uniqueness all of its own, especially if you have never had true Cuban or Spanish food, don’t go in expecting Mexican food, because although they may speak the same language the flavor profiles have night and day differences. Next up for my meals at Felix will be trying their dinner menu.

[xrr rating=2.5/5]

Felix Continental Cafe
36 Plaza Square
Orange, CA 92866

I meant to review breakfast at Felix Continental Cafe in Orange a couple of weeks ago, but forgot my camera and was unable to take pictures of my meal, so I headed back there again last weekend and ordered a different breakfast to expand my take on their breakfast offerings.
