Hands down, Mustard Cafe in Orange makes the best sandwiches I\u2019ve ever had.\u00a0 I\u2019ve never been one to turn a sandwich down, since to me they are the quintessential meal to ever have been created.\u00a0 Bread, veggies, sauce, and meat; how much better can things get?\u00a0 It is because of places like Mustard Cafe that I started writing reviews.\u00a0 Businesses that make exceptional food deserve to be recognized and praised from the top of the highest roofs in Orange County.\u00a0 But there is one slight flaw with Mustard Cafe…\u00a0 The price.\u00a0 Granted Mustard Caf\u00e9 makes premium sandwiches, and I expect to pay slightly more for them but spending $13 for a sandwich, bag of chips and a 20oz Diet Coke for lunch is usually outside of most people\u2019s minds of reasonable.\u00a0 I hadn\u2019t been to Mustard Cafe for a quite some time and after walking by it a couple times last Sunday while at the International Street Fair I decided to revisit one of my all time favorite sandwich shops.<\/p>\n

On the ducat for my eating pleasure was the absolutely greatest sandwich created by man, the Reuben!\u00a0 I have traveled far and wide to locate the most salivating versions of my most coveted sandwiches and Mustard Cafe is tops on my list.\u00a0 The Mustard Cafe Reuben ($8.75) isn\u2019t just a sandwich, it is listed as one of their Mustard Signatures, and this is because they are aware of how amazing it is.\u00a0 As explained on their menu as,”corned beef, on the griddle with fresh sauerkraut, swiss cheese and our house Reuben sauce, served on toasted rye”.<\/p>\n

Everything meshes together like a perfect song from my favorite music group Jimmy Eat World<\/a>.\u00a0 The griddle cooked corned beef\u2019s edges get a slight crunch to them, along with a slight toast to the edges of cheese.\u00a0 The bread is toasted on the inside and left bare on the outside, with just the right crunch to the crust.\u00a0 Oh and the Reuben sauce is delectable.\u00a0 I can\u2019t find enough adjectives to explain how much I love this sandwich, that\u2019s why I include pictures!\u00a0 Along with my sandwich I got a bag of Hawaiian Kettle Style BBQ chips ($1.45), which are sweet with just a slight spice to them, and a 20oz, drink ($1.85).\u00a0 This brought my total bill to $12.05 before tax.\u00a0 I guess I just wish they could make a meal like this for under $10.<\/p>\n

In addition to the Reuben, Mustard Cafe has a wide assortment of other sandwiches for those that aren\u2019t fond of corned beef, everything from build a sandwich, paninis, and an assortment of 20 signature creations.\u00a0 They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.\u00a0 They even have some killer looking desserts!<\/p>\n

Mustard Cafe is a fast casual restaurant, which means you order your sandwich at the register and they bring it out to you when it\u2019s ready.\u00a0 They have 5 locations throughout Orange County, one in San Jose, and are opening in San Diego soon.<\/p>\n

Mustard Cafe is a 5 star establishment, but I\u2019m going to knock them down \u00bd a star due to the price, it\u2019s hard not to compare them to other sandwich shops when taking into consideration, food quality, taste, price, etc.<\/p>\n
