{"id":656,"date":"2009-01-02T21:59:05","date_gmt":"2009-01-03T05:59:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/eatinoc.com\/?p=656"},"modified":"2009-01-02T21:59:05","modified_gmt":"2009-01-03T05:59:05","slug":"sassoon-chicken-orange","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inocnetwork.com\/eatinorange\/oc-food-reviews\/sassoon-chicken-orange\/","title":{"rendered":"Sassoon Chicken &#8211; Orange"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A couple weeks ago I found myself in Orange for lunch and I was craving <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yelp.com\/biz\/pacific-coast-hot-dogs-orange\" target=\"_blank\">PCH Hot Dogs<\/a> but had no cash on me so I went to one of my old favorites, Sassoon Chicken.\u00a0 It has been a couple years since my last visit because I actually thought they had closed.\u00a0 Fortunately I was wrong\u00a0 so I got my old standby.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"thickbox\" title=\"Sassoon Chicken - Beef Shawerma\" href=\"http:\/\/eatinoc.com\/wp-content\/gallery\/sassoon-chicken\/img_0222.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-left\" src=\"http:\/\/eatinoc.com\/wp-content\/gallery\/sassoon-chicken\/thumbs\/thumbs_img_0222.jpg\" alt=\"img_0222.jpg\" width=\"160\" height=\"120\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Beef Shawerma Plate ($8.95) is a tasty mix of spices and herbs that just make my mount ask for more.\u00a0 Along with a bunch of beef, the plate comes with some lettuce (they call it a salad but it has no dressing), 2 pitas, garlic hummus, and tahini sauce.\u00a0 I basically eat it like I would eat carne asada, rip off a piece of pita, toss in some meat, and dip it in hummus and tahini to get an explosion of flavors cascading in my mouth.<\/p>\n<p>It definitely was a great visit and brought back memories of why I enjoyed their food in the first place.<\/p>\n<p>[xrr rating=4\/5]<\/p>\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/foodfrenzy.freedomblogging.com\/2008\/05\/03\/beware-the-garlic-paste-sasoon-chicken-in-orange\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sassoon Chicken<\/a><br \/>\n3440 E.
