Costa Mesa Omelette Parlor – Costa Mesa

Many a reviewer has confused the Costa Mesa Omelette Parlor for Chester Drawers Inn and I’m here to set the record straight.  Chester Drawers Inn is/was a bar, Costa Mesa Omelette Parlor is/still is a restaurant.  From my understanding both businesses share the same door, but Chester Drawers Inn is no longer in business…  If someone wants to correct me please do, but that is my understanding from what I read on Yelp.  As for Costa Mesa Omelette Parlor they are very much in business and are just about every bit correct when they claim they are ‘Probably the best omelettes in the west!’.[singlepic=150,320,240,,left]

Since I was dropping Mrs. DanGarion off for work on Saturday I decided to check out the omelette parlor that I’ve heard many rave about (including my wife).  I’m not normally a big omelette person, but I do order them from time to time and since omelette is in their name I figured I might as well order their specialty.  I ordered the Every “Clouds” Silver Lining omelette ($7.50) which according to the menu consisted of; cheddar, swiss, and mozzarella cheeses, with chopped bacon or ham.  I ordered mine with the chopped bacon, since everything is better with bacon!  Along with the omelette I received home-fried potatoes, a wheat nut English muffin, and fruit.[singlepic=153,320,240,,right]  After placing my order I opened up my OC Weekly hoping to read ‘Ask a Mexican’ and the Hole in the Wall food review before my meal was ready, unfortunately I was only able to finish the first question to Gustavo, before my meal was already placed before me (honestly it was probably no more then 5 minutes!)  Lightning fast food delivery is awesome!  The omelette was good and fluffy, if not a little greasy, but it’s cooked in oil what is one to expect.  It wasn’t really stuffed to the brim with ingredients, but it was just enough to make me happy.  And the potatoes!!!  Oh the potatoes, it’s as if they read my mind and prepared them to crispy perfection.  I like my potatoes cooked well done and crispy (not burnt!) and they were perfect, with great flavor and bits of onion.  The English muffin was good as well, but it was just carb filler that came with a sort of apple butter to put on it that I at first thought was bar-b-que sauce.  Overall the food was really good and what a bargain!

Service was fantastic, my waitress was quick to serve and was nice.  Inside the place is bright and airy, as you can tell from my nearly perfectly lit pictures.
