While in Garden Grove during lunchtime I went to the Guacamole Grille #3.

Don’t ask me where #1 and #2 are since I’m unable to locate either of them when I go on Google or Yelp (unless it’s related to the one in Lakewood). Also what’s up with these businesses and their spellings of the word grill, what the hell is a grille (I’m looking at YOU Marie Callendars!) Moving on, the location of Guacamole Grille #3 has seen many a restaurant come and go throughout the years but to my recollection Guacamole Grille has been a constant for going on 5 years which is a pretty decent success for the ho-hum strip mall that includes the mediocre Perry’s Pizza (I guarantee you I will get 5 search hits for Perry’s Pizza this week alone)… Anyway once again moving on, what has given Guacamole the ability to stay in business… I can tell you it’s probably not their $1 tacos.
For lunch I ordered 3 of their $1 tacos; one each of asada, canitas, and pastor.[singlepic=162,320,240,,center] Each were covered with some cilantro and onion as street tacos usually are. They we ok, nothing terrible wow factor about them, but they weren’t bad, the meat had some flavor but was still average. Along with my tacos I ordered a side of rice ($2.50!!!) which sort of dry and deffinately not at all worth the price considering the amount I recieved. Honestly if I had known the rice was going to be as much as my tacos I wouldn’t have ordered rice to begin with. My extra large Diet Coke was also $2.45, so I ended up walking out of there spending over $8 for some street tacos a scoop of rice and a 32 oz. soda, not at all a deal.
I’ll probably not go back to Guacamole Grill (with an ‘e’) #3, at least not for tacos, maybe I’ll try a burger next time and stick to the 16 oz. soda.
Visit on 02/26/09 @11:20 AM for lunch.
